The Lineage Of F1BB Goldendoodle
These dogs are the result of pairing a Poodle with an F1B Goldendoodle and also known as Backcross Goldendoodle. An F1B Goldendoodle is 75 percent Poodle and 25 percent Golden Retriever which is the reason F1BB consists of significant features of Standard Poodle. It comes under the category of so-called multi-generation that belongs beyond the second generation.
Traits
An F1BB Goldendoodle comes with excellent characteristics of a Poodle. As it has more characters of Poodle, it is a brilliant, loyal, and fun-loving dog. This kind needs a moderate amount of exercise daily and eats according to their age, weight, and lifestyle.
It may have some issues like hip dysplasia, bloat, epilepsy, and progressive retinal atrophy, which can come from its parent Poodle. At the same time, some health problems from Goldendoodle can be prevented through a healthy lifestyle.
You must get your pet from a reliable breeder as they keep information about its pedigree and DNA. You can’t see the paperwork of the dogs at Puppy mills as they do not screen the dogs for genetic issues. Ask as many questions as possible from the provider like parentage, pedigree, and DNA. Size Of The Breed
Generally, this breed comes with medium-sized or large-sized in adults. Its weight falls between 14 kilograms to 20 kilograms. But the cross breeds of first generations are gigantic than the parent breeds as they have Golden Retriever as a grandparent.
Does It Shed?
F1BB Goldendoodle is the least shedder from the Goldendoodles. It is a suitable dog for those who often suffer from dog allergies but wants to keep a dog. Like its poodle parent, it starts having loose curls in the initial nine months. These curls are wavy with soft coat texture but changes over time. This dog goes through a coat change from nine to six months of age.
You need to brush the coat regularly to avoid tangles from nine to sixteen months of age. The layer can be of any color like cream, brown, red, black, or apricot.
Like its Poodle parent, it is a minimal shedder and falls under the category of hypoallergenic dogs. The term “hypoallergenic pet” does not exist in reality, but some dogs that can allergy to humans compared to other breeds. Hence comes with the least risk of dog allergies to the human.
There is a reason; these dogs don’t shed because hair gets trapped in their curls. These curls are tough to groom, and you need to groom them regularly.
If your F1BB is shedding in a considerable amount, you need to check for any skin disease like itching, inflammation, red rash, or allergy.
Some dogs also inherit an inflammatory skin issue called Sebaceous Adenitis, which is common in young and middle-aged dogs. This disease is responsible for the thinning of the hair that leads to the hair fall of the dog.
Grooming
As they are minimal shedders, this is the reason they need extra grooming to maintain a healthy and beautiful coat. Clipping needs to be done every three to six weeks on an adult F1BB Goldendoodle. They have a single and dense coat that needs a big slicker brush. Keep a note that the bristles should not be too hard or too soft.
You can also clip their coat, which comes under professional grooming. Clipping prevents your pet from tangles and mats that might be harmful to the jacket. If your pet is developing mats, you should comb its coat by a de-matting brush. It instantly cleans the fur of a dog. You need to complete the process without hurting your buddy.
Bathing acts as the reset button for the skin of these dogs, which should be done every two to three weeks. When bathing your F1B, place it in a tub and allow it sometime to saturate water in the coat. This breed comes with a dense coat that takes more time than other races in saturation.
You should fill the tub with lukewarm water and mild shampoo of dogs. Bathing it may be time-consuming due to its coat; after all, it is not a husky with a light fur.
Life Span Of F1BB Goldendoodle
It is an attractive dog that is liked by everyone. This breed is amiable and can change anyone’s mood within no time. It keeps the potential to live longer than the pure breeds and comes with a life span of 12 to 15 years. It can die with or without any health issues after 15 years. When these dogs are back crossed, life expectancy increases due to the least risk of health issues.
Adoption
It is a family dog that is chosen over hundreds of breeds. There are two specific places where you can find it; one is Pet Shop, which might not keep this breed, but another option, that is, Rescue center, can provide you the same with a proper certification.
